Palace of Culture in Târgu Mureș

The Palace of Culture is located in the center of Târgu Mureș, Mureș County. The building was erected between 1911 and 1913, to designs by the architects Marcell Komor and Dezső Jakab. With its mosaics, sculptures and colorful ceramic-tiled roof, the facade is in the Secession style.
Inside, the highlights are the grand hall, the Hall of Mirrors and the concert halls. Stained glass windows, paintings and ornaments were designed together with the architecture. The palace houses cultural institutions and museum collections, reflecting the link between music, the visual arts and the city's early twentieth-century modernization project.
