Paraschiva Lake in Sovata

Lake Paraschiva is located in Sovata, Mureș county, near the Roșu and Verde lakes. It was formed in a sinkhole, a depression in the ground, and has a very low salt content. The water and vegetation on the banks make up a habitat for fish and amphibians in an area where other lakes are highly saline.

The Ursu nature education trail starts at the shore and connects the lake with the surrounding forest and landforms. The shores can be followed on landscaped paths, among trees and areas with water vegetation. The stop at Paraschiva completes the circuit of lakes around Lake Ursu through a different landscape: a pool with slightly mineralized water, surrounded by forest, where the main interest is walking and observing nature.
