Pasărea Monastery
Pasărea Monastery is located in Brănești commune, Ilfov county, on the shore of Lake Pustnicu. The convent was founded at the beginning of the nineteenth century, at the edge of the woods that were part of Codrii Vlăsiei. The large church, the bell tower and the monastic houses are grouped around the courtyard.
The lake and the trees on the bank surround part of the complex. The buildings, churches and cemetery of the monastery preserve the traces of its development in several stages. The large church was rebuilt in 1846 by Calinic from Cernica, after the collapse of the old wooden church in the earthquake of 1838.
