Paul Constantinescu Memorial Museum

Ploiești, Prahova

The Paul Constantinescu Memorial Museum in Ploiești presents the life and work of the composer in a house on Nicolae Bălcescu Street. The institution was founded in 1993 after a donation from Eleonora Constantinescu, who provided the building, books, furniture and documents. The exhibition covers several areas of the musician’s work, from symphonic music and opera to choral works, chamber music and film music.

Manuscript and printed scores, concert programs and posters show how his works circulated in Romania and abroad. The visit also reveals a lesser-known side: the drawings and caricatures made by the composer. The furniture and the reconstructed study complete the musical documents. The museum also organizes cultural events dedicated to music.
