Pelișor Castle

Sinaia, Prahova

Pelișor Castle is located on the royal estate of Sinaia, Prahova county. It was built between 1899 and 1902 to plans by the architect Karel Liman, as a residence for Ferdinand and Maria. Behind the half-timbered facades and towers are interiors influenced by Art Nouveau.

The Hall of Honor, Ferdinand's study and the Golden Room preserve furniture and decorations chosen for the royal family. Queen Maria contributed to the design of some rooms, using plant motifs and Celtic symbols. Visits follow the opening and conservation schedule published by the Peleș National Museum.
