Peneș Curcanul Mausoleum

The Peneș Curcanul mausoleum is located in the heroes' cemetery on Eternității street in Vaslui. The monument commemorates Constantin Țurcanu, a soldier in the War of Independence of 1877–1878, who became known as Peneș Curcanul from Vasile Alecsandri's poem.
The National Office for the Cult of Heroes records here 70 individual graves and a monument with an ossuary. In front of the central monument are stone crosses and plaques with the names of those buried.
