Grenouille has no passion other than smells, and every second of his life is guided by his hyper-developed sense. Living a miserable life, the young man manages to get hired as an apprentice to a great Parisian master perfumer, Giuseppe Baldini (Dustin Hoffman). There he learns the techniques and secrets of perfume making, which take his talent to unimagined heights.
