For years, woodcarver Mr. Meacham has delighted children with stories of the fearless dragon in the forest. For his daughter Grace, a forest ranger, the stories come to life when she meets Pete, a mysterious 10-year-old boy with no family or home who says he lives in the woods with a giant green dragon named Elliott. Grace is surprised to learn that Pete's description of the dragon matches the one she knows from her father's stories.
