Lord Cutler Beckett of the East India Company has gained control of the fearsome ghost ship the Flying Dutchman and its evil, vengeful captain, Davy Jones. Under Admiral Norrington's command, the Dutchman now roams the seas, mercilessly destroying pirate ships. Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann and Captain Barbossa begin a desperate search to gather the Nine Lords of the Brethren Court, their only hope of defeating Beckett, the Flying Dutchman and its armada. But one of the Lords is missing: Captain Jack Sparrow, either the best or the worst pirate of all time, remains trapped in Davy Jones's world after his encounter with the monstrous Kraken.
