Poiana Răftivanilor Monastery

Poiana, Dolhasca, Suceava

The Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in the village of Poiana, on the outskirts of Dolhasca, was built in the middle of the nineteenth century by the boyars Lupu and Nicolae Răftivanu. It is easily recognized by the four white towers, likened by the locals to four fingers of a hand.

The founders wanted to establish a monastery here, and their wish came true on March 1, 2025, when the church became the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Monastery – Poiana Răftivanilor. The church is a historical monument.
