Poiana Wooden Church in Slobozia

Slobozia, Ialomița

The wooden church of Saint Nicholas was built in 1737 in the village of Poiana de Jos, under the care of the nobleman Răducan Tarca. In 1979 it was moved to Poiana de Sus, and in 2000 it was brought to Slobozia, to the National Museum of Agriculture, where it was saved.

The inscription above the entrance tells the story of all these moves. The church has a wooden tower with a bell-shaped roof and is a historical monument.
