Pony
The word “pony” comes from the Old French poulenet, a diminutive of poulain, meaning “foal”. The pony is a small horse, usually under 142–150 cm at the withers, depending on the rules of each breed society. Compared with larger horses, it has a thicker coat, mane and tail, shorter legs, a thicker neck and a shorter head.
