Northern Portugal
Porto is a city in northern Portugal, stretching along the banks of the Douro River to the Atlantic Ocean. The Ribeira district, the Dom Luís I bridge and the facades decorated with azulejos are well-known landmarks. The sloping streets, quays and promenade of Foz do Douro connect the historic center to the coast.
