Presentation of the Mother of God Church in Șimleu Silvaniei

In Iuliu Maniu Square in Șimleu Silvaniei is the Orthodox Church of the Presentation of the Mother of God in the Temple. The building is recognizable by the tall tower with a pointed roof and by the semicircular volume of the altar. The location in the center of the city brings it closer to the Báthory fortress and the old buildings around the square.

The church belongs to the Orthodox parish with the same dedication. Old books, icons and liturgical objects were collected in the parish complex, along with archaeological discoveries from the Măgura Șimleului area. The church remains the community's place of worship, and the patronal feast brings together priests and believers from the city and the surrounding area.
