Prislop Pass
Borșa, Maramureș
The Prislop Pass is the highest pass in the Eastern Carpathians, at 1,416 meters, on the DN18 national road. It connects the Maramureș Depression, from the city of Borșa, to the valley of Bistrița Aurie, to the village of Șesuri in Cârlibaba.
The pass is located between the Rodna Mountains, to the south, and the Maramureș Mountains, to the north. On the side from Maramureș the road climbs steeper, and to the east it descends smoothly.
