Public Garden in Brăila

Brăila, Brăila

The Brăila Public Garden, also known as the Great Garden, is a historical park near the Danube. The alleys, mature trees and flower areas offer a peaceful stop on a further walk through the old town. The Water Tower is one of the landmarks of the ensemble: its tall silhouette recalls an urban function different from the leisure one that the garden has today.

The park can be discovered on foot, following both the planted spaces and the buildings and monuments inside. Here is also the Panait Istrati Memorial House, which can complete the walk for those interested in the writer and his connection with Brăila. The Water Tower can be seen from the outside; access to the garden buildings is checked separately from walking through the park.
