Queen Marie Park in Baia Mare

Baia Mare, Maramureș

The Regina Maria Park in Baia Mare is a historical green space, developed since the nineteenth century. Shaded lanes and mature trees make it suitable for a break between sightseeing. The ornamental pond is one of its landmarks: the water, the vegetation and the landscaped banks offer a place to observe nature right inside the city, without the need for a trip outside it.

The walk can follow the paths around the pond and the rest areas, with stops for photos or to observe the aquatic life. The public administrator describes the 2014 pond rehabilitation work and its role in the park's biodiversity. Banks, vegetation and water surface make up a small landscape inside the green space. Plants and animals are observed without interfering with them.
