Răducanu Church in Târgu Ocna
Răducanu Church in Târgu Ocna, dedicated to the Annunciation, preserves the premises of a former fortified monastery. The building was rebuilt in 1763 by Radu Racoviță and is an example of late Moldavian Baroque. Stone walls and a vaulted entrance demarcate the courtyard, and the church tower rises above the porch.
The dedicatory inscription at the entrance also includes a text in French, an unusual detail for Moldavian churches of the time. Next to the church is the grave of the diplomat Costache Negri, along with other historical funerary monuments. Since 1890, it has functioned as a parish church; visitors to the courtyard and interior should respect the parish service schedule.
