Reformed Church in Dej

Dej, Cluj

The reformed church in the central square of Dej was built in late Gothic style between 1456 and 1526. Its thin tower, 71 meters high, was erected in 1643 by the craftsman Ioan Àcs.

The works were supported with blocks of salt donated by Iancu de Hunedoara and King Matia Corvin, because the city had developed thanks to the nearby salt mines. From 1558, after the Protestant Reformation, the church became reformed.
