Reformed Church in Sighetu Marmației

Sighetu Marmației, Maramureș

The Reformed Church in the center of Sighet is one of the oldest buildings in the city. The building has gone through successive transformations, but retains elements of Gothic architecture. It has belonged to the Reformed community since 1556, and its high tower is a landmark of the central area.

In front of the church there are two obelisks erected in 1887, related to the memory of the local community. The interior has a spacious nave with vaults, side galleries and tall windows. The church remains in use; the access inside depends on the activity of the parish. The exterior can be seen from the public space of the historic center.
