Reformed Church in Turda Nouă

Turda, Cluj

In Piața Basarabia in Turda, Cluj County, the Reformed church of the Turda Nouă district preserves a medieval complex surrounded by a defensive wall. The building was erected in the fifteenth century in the Gothic style, and the year 1504, linked to its present form, appears in an inscription on a southern buttress. The church has a single nave and a bell tower on the west facade.

The wall surrounding the church originally had six semicircular bastions and one square bastion. One semicircular bastion and the square one survive, showing the defensive role of the complex. The year 1870 is inscribed on the semicircular bastion. Inside there is an organ built in 1822 by the Brașov organ builder Andreas Eitel.
