Rhodos

Rhodos

Greece
The largest of the Dodecanese islands, Rhodes was famous in ancient times for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The medieval Old Town, with the Palace of the Grand Master built in the time of the Knights of Saint John, who ruled the island from 1310 to 1522, is a World Heritage Site. In the Valley of the Butterflies (Petaloudes), large numbers of tiger moths gather in summer.
