Roman Catholic Church in Lipova
The Roman Catholic Church in Lipova is dedicated to Saint John Nepomuk and belongs to the Catholic community in the city. The facade has a central clock tower, pointed roof and tall windows framed by decorative bands. The current construction was finished in 1889, after works started towards the end of the nineteenth century.
The history of the parish is linked to the German families settled in Lipova in the eighteenth century. The German school built in 1819 functioned near the church. The church continues to be used for services, and the feast of Saint John Nepomuk brings together the local community and believers from the surroundings. The clock tower and the symmetrical facade are the main landmarks visible from the street.
