Roman Catholic Church in Orșova

The Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Orșova was built in the 1970s, after the old town was covered by the waters of the Iron Gates I lake. The project is by the architect Hans Fackelmann, and the church was consecrated on November 26, 1976.
The tall and pointed tower and the curved roof make it easy to recognize. Inside, the painter Gabriel Popa made the Way of the Cross, in which he painted well-known faces among the figures, such as Nadia Comăneci and John Lennon.
