Romanian National Palace in Vatra Dornei

Vatra Dornei, Suceava

The Romanian National Palace in Vatra Dornei is located on Mihai Eminescu Street, at the foot of Runc Hill. Designed by architect Peter Paul Brang, the edifice was inaugurated in 1901. The construction was supported by city hall funds, grants and contributions collected from the public. The two corner sections and the pointed roofs shape its street facade.

The building houses the G. T. Kirileanu Municipal Library and continues a tradition of reading that began with the inauguration of the palace. At that time, three rooms on the ground floor were set aside for a reading room stocked with donated books. The exterior can be seen while walking on the main street, and access to the library premises follows the rules of the institution.
