Rosetti-Tescanu Manor House in Tescani

Tescani, Berești-Tazlău Commune · Bacău

The Rosetti-Tescanu manor house is in Tescani, Berești-Tazlău commune, Bacău County, on an estate associated with the life of George Enescu. The residence belonged to the family of his wife, Maruca, and the composer spent periods of work and rest here. Today, it houses the Dumitru and Alice Rosetti-Tescanu – George Enescu section of the national museum dedicated to the musician.

The house, the park and the orchard were donated to the state in 1947, with the wish that they be used for artistic activities. The memorial rooms hold furniture and objects linked to Enescu's stays, including the piano at which he worked. The library and the art gallery round out the visit, and the tradition of artists’ gatherings lives on through exhibitions and art camps. The paths around the manor link the museum to the landscape of the estate.
