Saint Anne Chapels on Mount Csobot
Gheorgheni, Harghita
The two Saint Ana chapels stand side by side on the top of Mount Csobot, at an altitude of 1,087 meters, above the town of Gheorgheni. The first one is said to have been built between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries and was renovated in the eighteenth century.
The second chapel was built in the eighteenth century, in memory of those who died of the plague. The locals say that the two neighboring chapels show the friendship between the Szeklers and the Armenians in the city.
