Saint Elijah Church in Slănic-Moldova
The Church of Saint Elijah in Slănic-Moldova is built on a higher place in the park of the resort, among the fir trees. The current building was built in the years 1927–1929, with the support of the spouses Axente and Maria Pandrea, on the site of the church destroyed in the First World War. The consecration took place on August 15, 1929.
The white walls and pointed spiers stand out above the vegetation of the park. In addition to the patron Saint Elijah, the church also has the Venerable Axente as its patron, in memory of the founder. The restoration started in 1990 included strengthening the foundation and walls and restoring the painting. The church was reconsecrated in 1996 and functions as a parish church.
