Saint Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church in Aiud

Aiud, Alba

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Elizabeth of Hungary is located on Cuza Vodă Street in the center of Aiud, near the fortress. The complex is listed as a historic monument. The church dates from 1728–1763 and the tower from 1896; the municipal description records the two stages separately.

The tall tower, with its pointed roof and clock, can be seen along the street and rises above the roofs of the neighboring buildings. The church facade is part of the row of buildings lining the square, while the stone towers of the fortress appear on the opposite side. The church belongs to the Roman Catholic community and is dedicated to Saint Elizabeth of Hungary.
