Saint Luke the Evangelist Church in Brânceni

Brânceni, Teleorman

The Church of Saint Luke the Apostle and Evangelist in Brânceni was built in 1850, at the expense of Mișa Anastasievici. It has a neoclassical facade, with the tower above the entrance, and the inscription is written in Romanian and Serbian, the language of the founder.

The oil painting and the icons of the iconostasis were made in 1859 by Gheorghe Tattarescu, one of the most famous Romanian painters of the time. In the church are kept objects of worship given by the founder, some with his monogram.
