Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Năsăud

Năsăud, Bistrița-Năsăud

The Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Nicholas is located in the center of Năsăud and can be recognized by the two clock towers on the facade. The foundation was laid on May 1, 1850, but construction began only in 1880 and lasted five years.

The estimate for the work had been made in 1865 by the engineer Lindopol from Bistrița. The church was painted and then re-consecrated on May 23, 1993, by the patriarch Teoctist.
