Saint Nicholas Church in Izvorani

Izvorani, Ștefănești, Argeș

The Church of Saint Nicholas in Izvorani, a village that is part of the town of Ștefănești, was founded in 1838 by the Pătrulești and Gamiloiu brothers. It lies 7.5 kilometers east of Pitești.

It was painted by Gheorghe Belizarie in 1918, the year of the Great Union. Local people say that at the end of the Second World War a Russian soldier fired a pistol at the portrait of King Ferdinand at the entrance.
