Saint Nicholas Church in Slătioarele

Slătioarele, Ocnele Mari, Vâlcea

The Church of Saint Nicholas in Slătioarele is located on Albinelor street, in the locality that belongs to the town of Ocnele Mari. The history of the parish links the beginnings of the religious foundation to Lady Ecaterina Salvaresso, the wife of voivode Alexandru II Mircea. The church remains from the old monastery, used today by the village community.

The white facades, the tower and the glazed porch are the visible landmarks of the construction. The arched entrance and dark-framed windows contrast with the walls, and there is a gazebo in the courtyard. The church preserves the memory of several restorations of the religious foundation. For the interior, access is determined according to the parish schedule, respecting the services and the peace of the place.
