Saint Nicholas Church in Târgu Ocna

The Church of Saint Nicholas in Târgu Ocna is located on General Eremia Grigorescu street, at number 2. Its architecture is related to the Moldavian churches of the eighteenth century, especially Golia and Curelari in Iași. On the outside, the pilasters with capitals and the decorative cornices, preserved after the many transformations of the building, can be distinguished.

The tower erected in the nineteenth century collapsed during the bombings of 1917. The church was later repaired and went through other works after the earthquake of 1977. In the courtyard is the Cannon Cemetery, dedicated to the heroes of the First World War. To visit the interior, it is necessary to confirm access with Precista Parish, to which the church belongs.
