Saint Paraskeva Wooden Church in Târgu Ocna

Târgu Ocna, Bacău

The Saint Parascheva wooden church in Târgu Ocna is also known as the Princely Church. The current building preserves oak beams from the historical stages of construction, including elements from 1664 and 1725. The restoration from 1725 is linked to the ruler Mihai Racoviță and the family of the boyar Dediu Brăileanu.

The recent restoration strengthened the foundations, walls, vaults and frame, recovering an important part of the old wood. The roof has returned to its shingle covering, and the eighteenth-century iconostasis, icons and paintings discovered during the work have been restored inside. The church was rededicated on September 13, 2026, after the end of the interventions.
