Saint Spyridon Church in Bârlad
The Church of Saint Spiridon in Bârlad is located on Vasile Pârvan street and is a foundation of the Sturdza family. The masonry church was built between 1821 and 1825, in place of an older wooden church. The fire of 1914 and subsequent interventions changed part of the interior arrangement.
The church has a trefoil plan, with side apses, and restorations at the end of the twentieth century included the strengthening of the walls, the spire and fresco painting. The bell tower is also located in the premises, next to the parish buildings. The church retains its religious function; the interior can be seen under the conditions established by the parish and respecting the services.
