Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Constanța

Constanța, Constanța

The Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul is located in the Constanța peninsula, below Ovidiu Square, in front of the Archbishopric of Tomis. The foundation stone was laid on September 4, 1883, and the consecration took place on May 22, 1895.

It was built in neo-Byzantine style, from pressed brick, from designs to which Alexandru Orăscu and Carol Benesch contributed, and has a 35-meter tower. In the park around it you can see traces of the old city of Tomis.
