Northern Russia and Siberia
The Samoyed is a medium-sized, elegant Spitz with a rich polar coat of white, cream or white with biscuit markings. The name comes from the Samoyed tribes of northern Russia and Siberia, with whom he lived. The standard describes it as friendly, open, attentive and lively, never shy or aggressive, so sociable that it cannot be used as a guard.
