Secu Lake

Reșița, Caraș-Severin

Lake Secu is a reservoir built on Bârzava, upstream of Reșița, in the wooded landscape of Banatul Montan. The dam was built between 1961 and 1963 to supply water and protect the city from flooding. In addition to the technical role, the lake has become one of the recreational places near the municipality.

The accessible shores offer views of the lake’s surface and the slopes that surround it. Forests descend close to the lake, and the recreation area allows for stops for walks and photos of the scenery. The lake retains its function as a reservoir for the city, so access near the dam and hydrotechnical installations follows the restrictions indicated on the spot.
