Sfânta Vineri Cathedral in Zalău
Zalău, Sălaj
The Sfânta Vineri Cathedral is the main seat of the Bishopric of Sălaj. The modern ensemble, designed by the architects Doina and Mircea Nejur, includes the cathedral, a 50-meter-high obelisk of heroes and museum spaces.
Construction began on August 15, 1990 and was paid for largely by donations from the inhabitants of Zalău.
