Sheep

Sheep's wool is the most widely used animal fibre in the world and is collected by shearing. The domestic sheep most likely descends from the wild mouflon of western Asia, from the area of present-day Turkey and Iran, and was one of the first animals domesticated for farming. In 2021 there were about 1.3 billion domestic sheep.
