Silvania Sparkling Wine Cellars

The galleries of the Silvania winery are excavated in the rock of Măgura Șimleului, at Șimleu Silvaniei, in Sălaj county. The underground network is about 3.5 kilometers long and is about 60 meters below the rock. Here, the constant temperature of around 12 degrees Celsius allows the sparkling wines to be stored and matured in long rows of bottles, under stone vaults.

The production of sparkling wine began in 1974. The winery uses the traditional method, with the second fermentation in the bottle and slow maturation, during which the natural bubbles of the wine are formed. Visits to the galleries are made by appointment with the operator. The winery is located on Partizanilor street, number 45.
