Simion Bărnuțiu Central Park

Simion Bărnuțiu Central Park lies by the Someșul Mic River, in Cluj-Napoca, Cluj county, between the Hungarian Theatre area and Cluj Arena. Work on the park began in the nineteenth century. Paths shaded by old trees cross the lawns and connect the entrances from the city center to Lake Chios.
In the park you can see the former casino pavilion, the lakeside building and the ornamental fountain. The lake was created for leisure and was once also used for skating. The layout of the paths and the buildings designed in the late nineteenth century still show how the land became one of Cluj's public gardens.
