Simion Pop House in Vișeu de Sus

Vișeu de Sus, Maramureș

Casa Simion Pop was the villa of the major landowner Simion Pop de Vișeu (1806–1883), Orthodox priest and deputy in the Diet (parliament) of Hungary. It was built between 1870 and 1890, in the Baroque style, and today it houses the town hall of Vișeu de Sus. The yellow facade has a row of arches at the entrance, and above, a pediment with a round window.
