Skiathos

Skiathos

Greece
A small island in the Northern Sporades, Skiathos is 12 km long and about 6 km wide on average, with many beaches, including Koukounaries and Mandraki. The 2008 film Mamma Mia! was shot here and on neighbouring Skopelos. On a high rock in the north of the island stands Kastro, where the islanders moved their capital in the mid-14th century for better protection.
