Slănic-Moldova is located in Bacău County, in a valley at the foot of the Nemira Mountains. The resort grew up around its mineral springs, and the center still has buildings linked to the history of spa tourism. The Slănic River runs through the town between wooded slopes.
The park, the springs area and the casino are the highlights of a walk through the center of the resort. Paths in the valley connect the pavilions and accommodation buildings to the edges of the forest. Upstream, the valley narrows toward the mountains, while downstream the road descends toward Târgu Ocna.
