Squirrel

The squirrel family includes tree squirrels, ground squirrels, among them prairie dogs, and flying squirrels. They are small or medium-sized rodents native to the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa, and people brought them to Australia. The oldest squirrel fossils date from the Eocene, an epoch tens of millions of years ago.
