Steam Locomotive Museum in Reșița
The Steam Locomotive Museum in Reșița, Caraș-Severin county, is set up outdoors, in the Triaj area, at the entrance to the city from Timișoara. It was opened in 1972, a century after the construction of the first locomotives at the factories in Reșița. On the short lines of the exhibition, locomotives from different generations are placed.
The central piece is the RESICZA locomotive, built in Reșița in 1872. All around you can see locomotives for industrial railways and for transport on regular lines. The wheels, connecting rods and boilers remain visible, showing the make up of these machines. The collection brings together 16 exhibits and preserves the city's connection with the metallurgical and railway industry.
