Stone House in Herăști

Herăști, Giurgiu

The Stone House in Herăști, Giurgiu County, is under restoration, and visitor access needs to be reconfirmed. The mansion was built between 1641 and 1643 for the brothers Udriște and Cazan Năsturel. The stone building is L-shaped and joins two almost identical dwellings with separate entrances and staircases. The estate also includes the Stolojan House, and near the entrance is the church built by Elina Basarab in 1644.

The mansion hosted traditional art exhibitions before the estate was handed back. The owners have announced conservation and restoration work on the Stone House and the surrounding buildings. The opening hours published on older pages do not confirm access during the works.
