Suceava Princely Fortress
The Princely Fortress of Suceava rises on a plateau on the eastern edge of the city, above the Suceava river valley. The fortification was founded by Petru I Mușat in the fourteenth century and strengthened by Ștefan cel Mare, with walls adapted to defense against artillery.
The route passes by the defensive ditch, through the gate area and in the inner courtyards. You can see the massive walls, bastions and traces of the rooms of the former princely residence. The exhibitions set up in the citadel present the medieval life and history of Moldavia, and from the sides of the fortification opens the panorama of the city and the valley.
